Not all those who wander are lost...JRR Tolkien.

...and not all who lost wander. It's worth a moment's thought. A moment that follows in the wake of the brave traveller. The type of question that may flit through this traveller's thoughts on a long train ride through Europe's forests or India's plains. At the heart of this musing is the most primitive, yet engaging question of them all:
Why does one travel?
And just like the scenery on our long train journey through a foreign landscape, the answer can change depending on where we are, the season in our life and who our travel companion is.
For a quick means of escape, an unexpected long weekend or a much anticipated break from our routine, the Hunter Valley, New South Wales Australia is just the type of locale to draw back repeat customers. I've been once and found it engaging and warm. In the middle of a cool season elsewhere, the locals give you the type of welcome that makes you smile even in remembrance and staying at the newly opened Crowne Plaza was a real treat at an affordable price...but more on that tomorrow.

Travel does allow us to escape our daily lives and stress, and like Jon above I also love the Hunter. Although, I am really quite happy being anywhere but at work!
